Lanning was the Melbourne Stars inaugural WBBL captain was the tournament’s leading run scorer in WBBL|01 and WBBL|02 before crossing to the Perth Scorchers. She then returned to the Stars for WBBL|06.

Australia’s long-serving women’s cricket captain, Lanning has led the nation to Commonwealth Games gold, as well as Ashes, World Cup and T20 World Cup victories in the past few years.
