The Stars Foundation was established in 2021 with a mission to enrich the lives of our Stars community.
Funds generated will be used to deliver or facilitate community support programs with relevance to the Stars family.
The Melbourne Stars will leverage its reputation as one of Australia’s biggest and best sporting clubs to generate donations. This will be done via our events, match days, online activity, auctions, donations and commercial partners.
We are committed to supporting Indigenous communities in Eastern Victoria.
The Stars fielded their first ever Indigenous Team in 2022 which competed in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander T20 Cup, staged in Albury and Wodonga. The tournament hosts indigenous teams from the Stars, Renegades, Thunder and Sixers.
8 members of the team returned for the tournament in 2023 and were recognised in our First Nations Round in BBL|12.
Team Green is an initiative of the Melbourne Stars to ensure we are a more environmentally conscious organization that is actively reducing its impact on the planet.
This is executed through facilitating greater environmental awareness amongst staff, players and fans; reducing our use of plastic and using more sustainable materials on match-days; initiating and participating in projects that have positive environmental outcomes; and funding sustainability projects via the Melbourne Stars Foundation.
The Melbourne Stars have attracted some of the biggest names in international cricket to Melbourne and have a huge international following. We are committed to supporting these players and fans in their home communities who may not have the chance to see the Stars at the MCG.
We're also committed to helping our local communities and charities by donating items wherever possible.
