In WBBL|08, Sutherland took her game to a new level, selected in the Team of the Tournament for the first time and named the Melbourne Stars Player of the Season.
She topped the runs tally at the club with 304 and led the wickets as well with 21. Her greatest moment was her 62 not out at the CitiPower Centre, including smashing 3 sixes in the final over to guide the Stars to a last ball victory against the Renegades.
Despite being just 22 years old, WBBL|08 will be Sutherland’s eighth season in the WBBL. When Sutherland made her debut for the Melbourne Renegades as a 15-year-old, she was the youngest player to feature in the WBBL.
Sutherland is the club's all-time leading wicket taker and has represented Australia in all three formats including at the 2020 T20 World Cup.
