WBBL SQUAD: Stars set for Sydney double-header

The Melbourne Stars will take an unchanged 13-player squad to Sydney for Sunday evening’s clash with the Perth Scorchers.

This game, which is an away fixture for the Stars, will be played at the neutral venue of North Sydney Oval, in the second match of a double-header, getting underway at 5:10pm (AEDT).

The Stars and Scorchers will be facing each other for the second time in just seven days, having met at Junction Oval on Monday night, where the Scorchers claimed a 15-run victory.

In what will be the Stars’ fifth match of the season, the club will be looking to bounce back from the narrowest of losses, falling one run short of the Sydney Sixers on Friday night.

The game will be a celebration of fast bowler Kim Garth, who notches up her 100th WBBL appearance.

The 30-year-old, who grew up in Ireland before making the move to Australia, represented the Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers prior to landing at the Stars in 2021.

Garth will have played 65 of her 100 matches in green, taking 96 wickets at an average of 21.78 in her WBBL career to date.

Sunday’s match will follow the Sydney Smash, with the Sixers and Thunder starting the day’s play at 1:40pm (AEDT).
