Our new GM, James Rosengarten, has written a letter to members and fans ahead of WBBL|12 and BBL|16
Letter from the GM
Dear Stars fans,
There has been a lot going on in the Big Bash over the past few months, but there is one thing for certain: this is a strong and united club. A club that is ready to power into our next BBL and WBBL campaigns.
We are proud to represent you: our members, fans, cricket clubs and players, volunteers and Blasters all across Victoria. From grassroots cricket and schools, to fireworks at the MCG - we are your team.
Importantly, we set great foundations on-field last season with both our BBL and WBBL teams playing finals, and I am confident both groups are capable of achieving further success this season.
A key action for us this off-season was to bring an extra match back to Victoria for both our BBL and WBBL teams. The BBL home game – previously hosted in Canberra – will be played in front of a full-house at the Junction Oval in St Kilda.
The construction of light towers at the Junction Oval will, this season, enable us to host prime-time matches across both tournaments.
Our first opportunity to play under these lights will be in a double header to open WBBL|12, where we face the Hobart Hurricanes at 7:10pm on Thursday, October 29.
Our vision is really clear this summer. We want to be the club that belongs to you, that is your local club and that is a powerhouse club that lights up the MCG.
As your new General Manager of the Melbourne Stars, I am looking forward to seeing you throughout the BBL and WBBL seasons and sharing in your passion for our team.
Thank you for your ongoing support of the Stars.
James Rosengarten
