The Melbourne Stars are proud to announce a new partnership with La Roche-Posay, a global leader in dermatologically developed skincare and sun protection.
This collaboration brings together a shared commitment to promoting players and fans to stay protected under the Australian sun throughout the cricket season.
As part of the partnership, La Roche-Posay will become the Official Sunscreen Partner of the Melbourne Stars BBL and WBBL teams.
The partnership underscores La Roche-Posay’s commitment to promoting sun safety within the community, where the brand will give fans and spectators the opportunity to sample the iconic Anthelios sunscreen products at the Melbourne Derby on Sunday, January 4, and other home matches at the MCG.
La Roche-Posay will also help to educate spectators on identifying skin cancer warning signs and empower them with knowledge on how to self-check using the dermatologist developed and Melanoma Institute of Australia endorsed ABCDE method.
“Every cricket participant at every level of the game must be diligent when it comes to sun protection,” General Manager of the Melbourne Stars, Max Abbott, said.
“We are delighted to partner with La Roche-Posay to help us reinforce this important message and also provide our players with a quality product from a world-leading brand."
La Roche-Posay Marketing Director, Hannah Audas, is excited to be partnering with the Stars.
“Our collaboration with the Melbourne Stars represents a fantastic alignment of values bringing together La Roche-Posay’s unwavering commitment to skin health and protection with the Stars’ dedication to peak performance and community engagement," Audas said.
“Just as the Melbourne Stars are focused on excellence on the field, we are passionate about providing dermatological solutions that support healthy, protected skin, especially for those active, outdoors under the Australian sun."
Through this partnership, La Roche-Posay aims to improve rates of sunscreen application by providing accessible sunscreen application stations at games and sharing prominent visual reminders of the crucial need for consistent sun protection.
Skin cancer is often referred to as Australia's national cancer, with two in three Australians likely to experience some form of skin cancer in their lifetime. However, 98% of these cases are treatable if detected early, hence La Roche-Posay's focus on educating Australians about the importance of regular skin checks, both in-clinic and self-checking.
