Mark Steketee has been ruled out of the Melbourne Stars’ BBL|15 season with a hamstring injury.
The fast bowler, who has played nine games across the past two seasons with the Stars, suffered a recurrence of a previous hamstring injury in Queensland recently.
From just six games last season, Steketee took 15 wickets at an average of 9.40, proving to be one of the most effective strike bowlers in the competition.
The 31-year-old joined the Stars in BBL|13 after spending the first 10 years of his career with the Brisbane Heat.
The Stars will now have the opportunity to select a replacement player for the upcoming season.
