The Melbourne Stars are pleased to announce the club’s annual Family Day will return to Casey Fields on Sunday, December 14.
The Family Day event, which is free and open to the public, saw over 4,000 fans flock to Casey Fields last season to meet their heroes and take part in cricket activities.
There will be free activities for kids and families, a selfie and signing session, merchandise on sale, as well as food trucks on site.
Captain Marcus Stoinis and the entire Melbourne Stars squad will be in attendance, with players taking to the stage at 12:30pm, with the signing session to commence immediately after.
“The Melbourne Stars Family Day is a highlight of the summer, bringing our players and fans together for what has become an annual tradition,” Melbourne Stars General Manager, Max Abbott, said.
“Melbourne’s south-east is a heartland for Stars fans and we’re proud to partner with the City of Casey to bring this event to life.
“We’re also delighted to be able to bring the event back into December this year as part of the build-up to our opening night at the MCG against the Hobart Hurricanes on December 18.”
City of Casey Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen is proud to be hosting the Stars once again.
“We’re pleased to help deliver a fantastic event for our community that offers a wide variety of fun for the whole family, and provides a great opportunity for kids to discover their interest in cricket, or test out their skills in the nets,” Koomen said.
“Council is proud to continue its partnership with the Melbourne Stars as they grow their fan base and community initiatives in the south-east of Melbourne and inspire the next generation of cricket stars.”
