The Melbourne Stars will be donning a brand new First Nations kit this summer.
Designed by artist and proud Wurundjeri man Alex Kerr, the jersey features key elements of the Stars family, Melbourne’s hills and waterways, and the MCG as a meeting place.
The club’s new look, which was launched on Wednesday morning, also has a nod to fan-favourite, Scott Boland, who has heritage as part of the Gulidjan tribe.
The Stars’ fast bowler was involved in the design consultation process with Kerr, and couldn’t be happier with how the jersey has turned out.
“It’s nice to be able to have a really small part in this design,” Boland said.
“I think all the credit obviously needs to go to Alex, the artist, who’s obviously done an amazing job.
“I think it’s going to be a jersey that we can proudly showcase at the ’G when we play.”
This kit will be seen in action for the first time during the WBBL season, when the Stars host the Sydney Thunder at the CitiPower Centre on Saturday, December 6.
It will then be displayed by the BBL side during its clash with the Adelaide Strikers at the MCG on Tuesday, January 13.
Fans can receive two free tickets to that MCG match with any purchase of the jersey prior to November 18.
