Emerging Victorian young guns Campbell Kellaway, Austin Anlezark and experienced wicketkeeper Sam Harper have all put pen to paper on one-year deals at the club.
Kellaway, 22, was selected for Australia A after a wonderful finish to the domestic season last summer and has played 10 games for the Stars since first signing for the club in BBL|13.
Anlezark, is an exciting right arm fast bowler and former Australian Under 19s representative who spent BBL|14 with the squad as a replacement player for Scott Boland.
Wicketkeeper Harper is a veteran of T20 cricket, having played 91 BBL matches in his career.
Known for his batting versatility, Harper can be used anywhere in the top 7 and was the third highest runs scorer amongst all the wicketkeepers in BBL|14.
The twenty-eight-year-old has continued last season’s impressive form, finishing the recent T20 Top End Series as the competition’s third highest run scorer, making 240 runs at an average of 48.
“To be able to secure three Victorian home-grown talents is a credit to the program we’re building in the state as we look to produce as many T20 cricketers as possible,” said Melbourne Stars High Performance Manager, Clint McKay.
“Austin and Campbell are long term prospects for the club and we’re looking forward to their progression, whilst Sam’s experience and level head off the field has seen him become a key leader in the Victorian system and hopefully he can rediscover some of his best form with the bat in BBL|15” he said.
