The Melbourne Stars have secured two more world class talents at today’s BBL Overseas Player Draft.
Club favourites return via BBL Draft
After being bid on by the Adelaide Strikers at pick 2, the Stars were able to secure Pakistan international Haris Rauf via a retention pick.
Rauf, 31, returns to the Stars for what will be his 5th tournament with the club.
Rauf lit up the MCG with a famous hattrick in BBL|09 and will again excite fans with his extreme pace and passion on the field.
Since making his debut in BBL|09, Rauf has played 22 games for the Stars and taken 36 wickets, going on to represent his country 85 times in T20 internationals.
Joe Clarke is a back-to-back player of the season winner at the club and returns after being a replacement player last year for two matches.
Taken with pick 18 in the draft, Clarke has proven his ability at the top of the order and also provides an extra wicketkeeping option if needed.
Clarke’s best innings in green came in the opening game of BBL|12, making 101* from just 66 deliveries.
Tom Curran was pre-signed before the draft and was taken with Pick 15, returning for his second tournament with the Stars.
