Fast bowler Mark Steketee has signed a new 1-year deal with the Melbourne Stars.
Fast bowler commits for BBL|15
Steketee exploded in BBL|14, taking 13 wickets in the last 4 regular season games of the tournament.
The 31-year-old joined the Stars at the beginning of BBL|13 after 10 seasons with the Brisbane Heat where he is still the all-time leading wicket taker.
Melbourne Stars T20 High Performance Manager Clint McKay was impressed with what the Queenslander produced in BBL|14.
“Full credit to Mark, he worked his way into the tournament and then capitalised on his opportunity in the attack.
“He is a proven wicket taker in the BBL and a fierce competitor and hopefully he can take the momentum and belief from last season into this year.
“We’re really pleased with our fast-bowling stocks with Mark complimenting Peter Siddle, Tom Curran, Scott Boland and Liam Hatcher.”
Steketee, now a veteran of 78 BBL matches was already looking forward to the summer ahead.
“I’ve loved my last couple of years at the Stars and the MCG is an amazing place to play when you’re on a roll like the team was last year.
“Hopefully the boys can keep that momentum going and get back to the finals again in BBL|15.”
