Stars Abroad: Faltum shines in Green and Gold, 4 Stars in Shield Final

There was plenty on the line at the CitiPower Centre this week as a number of Stars players vied for a spot in the Sheffield Shield Final.

Nicole Faltum was the standout Stars performer in the recent Green vs Gold women's match, which has become a feature of the extended Australia A program. Faltum made 112, whilst Sophie Day took 2-18 from 14 overs in the second innings. Tess Flintoff was also involved in the match, whilst Milly Illingworth and Sophie Reid were withdrawn due to injury along with Kim Garth who is preparing for Australia's tour of Bangladesh.

Day was back in action for Prahran along with Olivia Henry as they went down to Melbourne in the Premier Cricket Final. 

Meg Lanning has continued her red-hot form in the WPL with another half century during the week as Delhi topped the WPL standings. They will now take on either Mumbai or RCB in the final on Monday morning Australian time. 

All eyes were on the CitiPower Centre this week as WA booked their place in next week's Sheffield Shield Final. Joel Paris (4 wickets) and Corey Rocchiccioli (2 wickets) along with Hilton Cartwright. Scott Boland (8 wickets) was the standout bowler of the match whilst Campbell Kellaway and Sam Harper fought hard in the second innings for Victoria.

The standout batter of this year's Sheffield Shield, Beau Webster will be waiting for WA as he warmed up for next week's final with 6 wickets and another half century to add to his name.

Mark Steketee brought his season to a close with 2 wickets in the first innings of Queensland's final match against NSW.

Usama Mir can book his spot in the PSL Final this week after topping the table. Mir had been the standout bowler of the tournament, topping the leading wickets takers with 21.
