The Melbourne Stars welcome back the excitement machine that is Sandeep Lamichhane for his second campaign, after a blockbuster BBL|08 campaign for the team.
The teenage leg spinner became a #TeamGreen sensation last year, drawing a huge interest from his home country after becoming the first Nepalese player in Big Bash League history.
His talents lit up the Stars' bowling attack, wreaking havoc against some of the best players in the world. A wicket taking wrist spinner, Lamichhane’s strike rate of 6.57, and the 11 wickets he knocked over for the Stars in BBL|08, was a big reason the Stars made it to the Final.
The young Star has had a promising start to his young career, having played in the Indian Premier League for Ricky Ponting’s Delhi Daredevils alongside Glenn Maxwell, taking five wickets at an average of 16.40 in three matches. He then went on to play in the Caribbean Premier League for St Kitts and Nevis, taking seven wickets at 15.14 in five games.
A fan favourite, we can’t wait to see Lamichhane rip his famed leg break googly for #TeamGreen again in BBL|09.
