Mt Eliza teenager, Lucy Cripps, will embark on her first season in the Big Bash after signing with the Stars ahead of WBBL|05.
The talented youngster is juggling high school commitments with playing cricket, but this hasn’t phased her before - as she played solid cricket for Dandenong in the Women’s Premier First One Day competition across the 2018/2019 season.
Cripps made her WNCL debut in 2018-19 against the ACT; a season highlight for Cripps was playing a key role for the Victorian Country side in the Under 18 Female National Championships, where they were crowned champions.
Cripps is a gifted sportswoman, growing up as a keen footballer where this took her to several representative sides, which cultivated in a St Kilda AFLW contract offer. This meant decision time for the teenager and as she admitted herself it really was a gut feeling that led her to choose cricket over football.
Making her Victorian First-Class debut at the age of 16, Cripps has a bright future ahead and we are super excited to have her on board for WBBL|05.
