Replacement named in squad for Stars' return game at MCG

The Melbourne Stars will play their first home game of the KFC BBL|10 season tonight at the MCG, with coach David Hussey naming a 17-man squad.

A limited number of tickets are still available at with attendance capped at 15,000 spectators. Tickets must be pre-purchased online for all BBL matches in Melbourne.

The Stars will be seeking to square the ledger against Adelaide Strikers after being defeated by the same opposition three nights ago at the Adelaide Oval.

Dandenong left-hand batsman Ed Newman has been added to the squad as a replacement player for Test star Will Pucovski.

Coach David Hussey said he was excited to be welcoming the 21-year-old to the Stars family.

"Ed is a powerful middle-order player, who is also an excellent fielder. He's been putting in good performances in Premier Cricket and he will be a great guy to have amongst the group," Hussey said.

The Stars currently sit 7th on the ladder but can jump into equal 3rd with a win against the Strikers tonight.
