Stars name squad for 'Canes clash, two replacements added

02 January 2021

The Melbourne Stars have named a 16-man squad for tonight's KFC BBL|10 clash against Hobart Hurricanes at Blundstone Arena in Hobart.

There are two new inclusions in the squad, with Sam Rainbird and Sam Elliott approved as injury replacements for Nathan Coulter-Nile (calf) and Jackson Coleman (hamstring).

Rainbird, a left-arm fast bowler, has BBL experience with the Hurricanes and Sydney Thunder.

Elliott, 20, is the son of former Victorian opening batsman Matt Elliott and will make his debut if selected when the final team is announced at the bat flip.

Adam Zampa is unavailable after accepting a one-match ban for an audible obscenity against the Thunder.

Zampa will be available for selection in the return match against the Hurricanes in Hobart on January 4.

Left-arm spinner Clint Hinchliffe has been added in the squad.
