Osborne to stand in as skipper v Strikers

05 January 2018

Experienced all rounder Erin Osborne will captain the Stars’ side today after Kristen Beams was ruled out with a finger injury. 17-year-old Nicole Faltum will make her debut for Stars.

Beams sustained a injury to the base of her little finger on her left hand (non-bowling hand) in the Stars’ win against the Scorchers in Perth.

Osborne is currently captain of the ACT Meteors side in the WNCL and is a well-respected and highly regarded off-spinner. With over 100 international wickets in ODI and T20I cricket, Osborne brings a wealth of international and WBBL experience to the Club.

Osborne joined the Melbourne Stars this season after spending the first two WBBL seasons with the Sydney Thunder, where she was part of the team that won the WBBL|01 title and was awarded player of the match in the final.

Wicketkeeper-batter Nicole Faltum joined the Stars for WBBL|03, coming across from rivals Melbourne Renegades. The right-hander plays Premier cricket at Dandenong and made her debut for Victoria this season.
