As the rain eased Elyse Villani and new opening partner Annabel Sutherland made light work of the new ball, taking 40 runs from the opening five overs of the shortened 11 over clash.
Villani was in hot form bringing up her half-century from just 29 balls, finishing the innings 54*. Losing only one wicket, the Stars finished their allotment with a respectable 99 runs on the board.
Villani's knock featured five boundaries and a six, while Meg Lanning found the boundary four times in her cameo of 23*.
Needing a fast start, Alyssa Healy again hurt the Stars hammering 57 from just 27 balls.
With four debutants and a relatively inexperienced bowling attack, it was Irish international, Kim Garth who led the way with the ball. Garth took the wicket of Ashleigh Gardiner and finished with figures of 1/16 from three overs.
Fellow debutant Rhys McKenna was thrown the ball late and didn't disappoint, picking up the wicket of Ellyse Perry with just her fourth ball in the Women's Big Bash League.
The Sixers passed the Stars score with four balls to spare, with Healy the only Sixers batter to reach double figures.
The focus for the Stars moves to taking on the Hobart Hurricanes on Tuesday afternoon.
