The Stars went into the fixture knowing their place was booked in Wednesday’s semi final against the Perth Scorchers - the club’s first appearance in the WBBL finals series.
Having been sent in by the Sixers, Elyse Villani and Meg Lanning continued their outstanding partnership play, putting on an opening 79 run stand before Villani was dismissed by Marizanne Kapp for 45.
Lanning went on to make 77 off just 59 balls after a short break reduced the match to 19 overs a side as rain crossed Sydney.
A quickfire 32 off just 13 balls from Nat Sciver drove the Stars to a strong 4-178 total.
Wanting to end the season on a high note, Sixers opener Healy delivered one of the most comprehensive batting displays in T20 cricket worldwide, belting 111 off just 52 balls including fifteen 4’s and six 6’s.
Combined with 31 from Ellyse Perry, the Sixers lost their first wicket with 150 runs on the board but the final work was left to Angela Reakes who hit 21 off 12 balls to win the match with two balls to spare.
Into the finals for the first time, the Stars now face the Perth Scorchers at North Sydney Oval on Wednesday night at 7.10pm.
