With the game tight with two overs to go, Kimmince smashed 19 runs off 5 deliveries to swing the momentum the Heat’s away and resign the Stars to only their second loss of WBBL|06.
The Stars were sent into bat on a sunny morning and felt the pressure early when Delissa Kimince dismissed Meg Lanning for a rare second ball duck.
Elyse Villani and Mignon du Preez again stepped up the pace with the pair putting on a 53 run partnership before Villani fell for 24.
A handy 33 from Nat Sciver pushed the Stars past 100 and it was some late hitting from Alana King (17 runs off 9 balls) and Katherine Brunt (16 runs off 11 balls) guided the Stars to a 5-151 total.
In reply with the ball, Brunt and Sciver combined early to remove the dangerous Grace Harris for just 8 but it was Jess Jonassen, Georgia Redmayne and Georgia Voll who contributed 106 runs to put the Heat within touching distance of victory.
Tess Flintoff finished with excellent figures of 3-13 off just 3 overs for the Stars but it was Laura Kimmince who did the rest of the damage for the Heat with the Stars left to plan for their Sunday match against the Sydney Sixers at North Sydney Oval.
