King re-signs as Border Bash tickets go on sale

10 October 2016

Melbourne Stars spinner Alana King officially re-committed to the club at today’s Border Bash tickets on sale announcement in Albury.

King becomes the sixth player to sign with the Stars for the second edition of the rebel Women’s Big Bash League, joining captain Meg Lanning, Kristen Beams, Jess Cameron, Emma Kearney and Katie Mack.

The announcement coincided with the launch of Border Bash tickets on sale which will see the Stars take on the Sydney Thunder in a WBBL|02 fixture as well as two men’s practice matches at Lavington Sports Ground on December 13.

“It’s great to be back with the Stars for the upcoming season,” King said.

“We have more broadcast matches, more double-headers and have also been given the opportunity to play a fixtured WBBL match in the country, which is all very exciting.”

The WBBL match will start at 10am and will be followed by the first of two men’s practice matches at 3pm, before a second match under lights at 6.30pm.

Stars captain David Hussey acknowledged that it was a good opportunity to bring the Big Bash to a regional area and encouraged locals to grab a ticket to the Border Bash.

“The players are really looking forward to putting on a show for the fans in Albury-Wodonga. We’re hoping to get a big crowd to the ground, to give it a genuine Big Bash feel, ” said Hussey.

“Both the men’s and women’s teams will be hoping to take out the Border Bash with a clean sweep. We want all Stars fans in the area to come down, wear green and support the Club as we kick off our Big Bash season. ”

Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for concessions with junior (5-16 years) tickets available for $3.50 and family (2 adults and 2 juniors) for $32 which includes admission to all three fixtures.

Tickets are available from the Albury Entertainment Centre, or by calling 02 6043 5610 or by visiting
