Fans pack Casey Fields for Family Day

19 December 2016

Well we don’t know about you #TeamGreen but we are STILL on cloud nine after yesterday’s Melbourne Stars Family Day out at Casey Fields.

After a Sunday that saw our girls get a win over the Sixers, some super fun games and rides, and time to hang out with all our favourite Stars, our excitement levels were at an all-time high and they aint coming down anytime soon!

With over 10,000 of you choosing to spend your Sunday with us, yesterday almost felt like a big green party. Pouring in from 10am, you all helped make yesterday the best way to take us into the Christmas break before our mammoth Boxing Day clashes.

Our girls gave us the best start to the morning, producing a seven-wicket win over the Sydney Sixers for the second time this weekend. Yeah we know, our girls are killing it at the moment!

We then had our whole club hop up on stage to meet you all. Maxi and JC answered a few questions before they all then made their way to the tents to meet you all.

Our Community Rookies were also announced yesterday and we couldn’t be more excited for Lauren Wood and Shorye Chopra to be joining us this season.

“It’s completely unbelievable and I’m on top of the moon right now. I’m very excited to gain experience from this and pick everyone’s brains and understand how they play in different conditions and hopefully improve my game,” Chopra said.

We all had such an amazing day yesterday so we hope you all had just as much fun. Scott Boland found himself on media street yesterday and just couldn’t believe how many of you came out to see us!

“It’s been great to be down here at Casey for our fifth Family Day. There’s heaps of people here – heaps of family, heaps of kids I honestly can’t believe how many of them came out. It’s just been such a great day,” he said.

With both our teams next playing on Boxing Day, make sure you have all joined #TeamGreen so your memberships are ready for our first home game – the big Derby against the Melbourne Renegades. It’s going to be MASSIVE and we absolutely cannot wait! We’ll see you there Stars fans!
