Handscomb returns to Stars squad

09 January 2017

The Melbourne Stars has made a number of changes to the squad to take on the Adelaide Strikers in tomorrow's double-header match at the MCG.

With Zamps, Faulks and Maxi all called-up to international duties, the Stars has welcomed a number of players into its squad.

With his Test duties having come to an end, Peter Handscomb returns for our match against the Strikers, with spinner Liam Bowe, Cameron Gannon and Seb Gotch also welcomed into the squad.

Bowe is a left-arm leg-spinner who travelled to New Zealand with the squad in December.

One to Watch

HOW EXCITED IS EVERYONE THAT PETE IS BACK?! With his Test duties done, and having smashed it in the process, Pete will return for our clash with the Strikers. Recording multiple centuries, taking some amazing catches, and spending some time behind the stumps at international level, Pete could not be in any better form and we don’t think this is going to stop anytime soon. All we can say is watch out Strikers!

Last Time We Met

Our last match against the Strikers resulted in a 19-run loss at Adelaide Oval, with Brad Hodge and Alex Ross making runs. Although Stoin managed a half-century and Bolo snagged two wickets, our boys, the Strikers’ power hitting saw them prevail.

Game Info

The boys kick off at 7.40pm at the MCG so make sure you grab your tickets and come along to the home of cricket for this must-win clash! With the girls playing in the afternoon and a HEAP of activities happening around the ground, this is one double-header you do not want to miss Stars fans! But if you’re not in Melbourne (because what other reason could there be for not wanting to catch all the action) and can’t make it to the game, you can catch the boys LIVE on Channel 10 from 7.30pm.
