Talented quick Jackson Bird will again cross Bass Strait for the summer, returning to play for the Melbourne Stars in BBL|02.
The paceman’s stunning rise through the cricketing ranks was boosted with an impressive opening season with the Stars. The new ball specialist brought his form from Tasmania over for BBL|01, snaring a serviceable five wickets in five matches.
Importantly, his raw talent and starring performances haven’t gone unnoticed by cricket’s hierarchy; he was rewarded with selection in the Australia A team in winter.
The 25-year-old will again relish the chance to call the home of cricket - the mighty MCG - ‘home’ again and to spend another summer in the city he would one day love to move to.
Bird is a self-confessed lover of food listing Japanese and seafood his favourites – funnily enough his nickname is ‘Squid’.
