Beer again proved to be an extremely valuable cog in the Melbourne Stars engine in BBL|05.
He played all but one game and finished with the Stars’ best economy rate of 6.37. He took six wickets for the tournament and was regularly taking the new ball, rushing batsmen and tying up an end.
Beer spent the first three BBLs with the Perth Scorchers but was traded to the Stars before BBL|04 and has been invaluable since.
No stranger to the dot ball, his best performance in BBL|05 was the tight 1-16 from the four overs he bowled in the Stars’ first win against the Sydney Sixers.
