Nineteen-year-old left-arm leg-spinner Liam Bowe came into the Melbourne Stars squad halfway through BBL|06 as a replacement player and played two games for the season.
The spinner from Bendigo debuted against the Adelaide Strikers, picking up the wicket of Ben Dunk in his first over.
Nicknamed ‘The Wizard’ because of his resemblance to Harry Potter, Bowe earned his call-up to the side after impressing in a practice match in New Zealand against Wellington, taking 2-30.
Playing for Essendon Cricket Club in Premier Cricket, Bowe has taken 18 wickets for the current season with his best game coming against the Monash Tigers with figures of 4-79.
Bowe was also made his debut for Victoria’s Future League squad against ACT in February.
