It’s our third double-header of the season today and this time we play against the Adelaide Strikers! Our boys are ready for their must-win clash tonight. With the game kicking-off at 7.40pm, strap yourselves in for one fiery game of cricket!
Last Time We Met
Adelaide Strikers 5-187 def. Melbourne Stars 7-168 by 19 runs
Last time we faced the Strikers we weren’t quite able to get the result we wanted. With Brad Hodge and Alex Ross blasting 56* and 65 respectively, we couldn’t quite catch the total of 188 for a win. Stoin was our top-scorer with the bat, managing a knock of 50 off 42 balls. Bolo grabbed two wickets for the night, with Beery, Faulks and Hasto also managing a wicket each.
Players to Watch
PETE. IS. BACK! We know all of #TeamGreen is that excited to have our Test Star back in action and with some red-hot form in Aussie colours, we can’t wait to see Pete perform tonight. We all know his batting has been superb of late, but with some great catches and time behind the Stumps also under his belt, Pete is going to be invaluable when our bowlers take to the pitch.
‘Niiiiiiiiiice Beery’ is something we’re getting used to hearing in our games this season, with the dot ball officer having the second best bowling economy of all our boys only behind Zamps. But, with Zamps now on international duty, and having just had his best game against the Renegades, Beery is our main man of spin and will be a real weapon for us tonight.
Ben Dunk has been the Strikers’ best player with the bat this season and will be our danger-wicket in our game tonight. Averaging 58 and with a high score of 85, Dunk has the ability to blast them all over the ground and can win games for the Strikers off his own merits. In our last clash with the Strikers, Dunk had a great night out so we know he will be raring to go tonight.

Now sitting at two wins and two losses for the season, our game tonight is absolutely crucial to the second half of our season. Both our wins have shown the competition just how dangerous we can be and the boys are determined to keep that form going.

With only two wins against the Hurricanes and the Sixers this season, the Strikers need a win just as much as we do to ensure they’re in the race for finals. But with Billy Stanlake and Travis Head, two of the Strikers’ best players in BBL|06, called up to the ODI squad, they will welcome some new talent into their team to fill the gaps. All we know is that it will be one hell of a game tonight and you do not want to miss it #TeamGreen!
If you haven’t already grabbed your tickets for today’s games, you should really get onto that RIGHT NOW! Our game may not start until 7.40pm, but with so much happening around the G today you want to make sure you get there with plenty of time to get in on the fun. You can also catch our boys LIVE on Channel Ten from 7.30pm.
