The Melbourne Stars' match against the Hobart Hurricanes was destined to be highly anticipated given it co-incided with BBL|02's return to the MCG.
And the clash lived up to the pre-match hype, coming down to the final over with T20 batting debutant Peter Handscomb and James Faulkner at the crease.
The Stars had earlier won the toss and elected to bowl. They restricted the Hurricanes to 134 runs thanks largely to quality fielding and a three-wicket haul from the eventual man of the match, Clint McKay.
In reply, Rob Quiney posted a solid 35 and Brad Hodge 34 building runs slowly but surely, mixing in a few big sixes along with young gun, Glenn Maxwell.
With a four from Faulkner followed by a no ball in the final over, the game was won by the Stars. The four-wicket win was a perfect result for the Stars in their return to the MCG.
